Building Green Power: the Nuts and Bolts

In the end, this is what this is all about- creating your own renewable energy resources. You can live off the grid, sell power back to the utility company, reduce your carbon footprint, and save a ton of money on power bills. But how does it actually work?

Your Choices

A set of choices lies ahead when deciding on how to begin building green power. They boil down to these:

  1. What kind of generator do you want to build?
  2. Will one kind of power source do the job?
  3. How big does the system need to be?
  4. Will it be grid-tied or not?
  5. DIY or professional installation?
  6. Will you buy your generator or build it?

I will be trying to cover these topics progressively as I build the site more fully. My encouraging words are that these are relatively easy questions to answer and I hope to help you answer all of them. Once you plan and consider these, then you will be prepared to get installing a system.
